My little 2wd 5 lug has been in places that most 2wd trucks haven’t been, but it’s also gotten stuck plenty of times. Ever since i’ve had it i’ve been looking into getting all the parts for a 4x4 conversion if it’s possible. I want to keep it manual if i do a conversion. Where and how would i get the parts for it and how much would it run me

    Yes.

You need a 4x4 transmission, transfer case, the brains for it unless you're going FJ J shift case, front diff and mounts, front and rear drive shaft at the bare minimum.

@Brian422 did a 4x4 swap starting on page 8 of his build thread.

Nothing is going to bolt right in but if you have fabrication experience i imagine it could be done. Having toyotas take on a 4x4 system in front of you would sure help you design your own. Depending on how attached you are to your 5 lug getting a 4x4 would be far easier.

Got a lot of stuff lol
So I've done quite alot of research as at some point I'll be doing a 4wd swap. The tranny stuff is easy enough but the problem is the front as nothing will bolt in. This basically means doing a solid axle swap.

To get more out of you truck currently I would highly suggest a trutrac or an arb air locker. I have a locker in the rear and with my 33s I get alot of places.

The only way I've found to go 4x4 on a 5 lug is by welding on the frame, and most people aren't skilled enough to do that correctly. However, there are some companies that make bolt on electric hub motors, but you're looking at $5k+.

So I did convert mine to 4wd but it's basically a sas anyone would do on any truck. Cut it all off and add it back.
