I have seen lots of posts and websites confidently stating very different numbers for.the 3rd gen 16in TRD Off-Road wheels. Anyone know what it actually is?

Also how much would they need to be spaced in order to notnrub the UCA with 285s? 1.25in is obviously way too much. Looks like something like 1/4in might even do it but I know the skinnier spacers can have issues.

A lot of sources say that and a bunch of other ones say +13. I was wondering if there was some sort of change at some point or 2nd and 3rd gens getting mixed up.... Of course the smart thing to do would be to measure my damn wheel :)

Just did a rough eyeball with a tapemeasure without unmounting my wheel and it looks to be a roughly 4.5in backspacing which should line up with the 13mm offset. I have also seen Pro wheels being 10mm......

25mm is definitely the number I have seen mentioned the most. Maybe that was 2nd gen or early 3rd gen? Mine is a 2022

I'd just do a 255 or replace the wheel to get a 0 offset for optimal clearance in this situation. I could be mistaken but you can o ly go to a 1" without it being a slide over spacer which i wouldn't want any part of.

Third gen TRD OR wheels are +25. Tacoma TRD Pro's are +13. 4Runner TRD Pro's are +4.

If you put a tire that is 20mm wider, then it will be 10mm closer to the inner suspension. I'd give it at least a 1" (25.4mm) spacer anyway because of how inset the factory wheels are if you are dead set on keeping the factory stocks. But IMO it's better just to replace with better wheels. Likely you will have to change other stuff to pull this off (alignment changes, cab mount chop, etc). Most in your situation opt to go for tall skinny's and you will run into a lot less issues.

With the right backspacing it seems like it should mainly just be clearance work which I don't mind doing. Would love to get new wheels as well but financially might be able to just do the tires sooner.

255s are great when you don't need flotation but I need to be able to survive on deep sand as well.
