Are there any companies offering kits to relocate the camera that is shown in the rear view mirror? Trailhunter trim.

I’m adding an AluCab contour canopy and would like to retain that functionality.

    TIA!

Yeah, 1 or 2 guys here have done it but I forget the name of the company that sell the kit. Do a forum search or wait till they show up.

That is encouraging. I've been looking for a backup camera solution. They don't have anything that fits my needs right now, but it looks like they are considering something.

FYI, backup camera is in the tailgate. The bed cam and digital rear view cam are in the third brake light.
I just did 85% of the install using the GG Offroad kit for my 2024. The wires are tucked under the back seat for now. Just waiting for a dry day to finish up. I had an AluCab Contour canopy put on yesterday. Still need to get load bars then I’ll mount the bed camera inside the canopy and the drv camera on the rear load bar. install wasn’t too bad following the video. The one issue I ran into was testing the cameras after the new cables were plugged in. Neither camera would work until the third brake light is plugged back in. The video show a different order of doing things. Maybe an editing mistake. Once I figured that out it was smooth sailing. But it added 30-45 minutes of trouble shooting. I emailed them to let them know of my issue, but haven’t heard back. I also think the screwdriver bit mentioned in the video to remove the cameras from the plastic bracket was incorrect. It’s very very small.
Yes, you need to do the relocate before having a canopy installed. It may be doable but it would be much more difficult. Sort of like installing a winch on a bumper already on the truck…not ideal.

I tend to believe that some company will come up with a simpler solution than GG Offroad did. It just seems like they are doing more work than is necessary and causing you to loose the rearview cam on the cab. I had put down the deposit for a Trailhunter and requested about the only serious option the TH can be ordered with, the wireless trailer camera. They called me shortly after and informed me that a demo TH was being turned in with 1700 miles and the same color scheme as I had ordered, but without the wireless trailer camera. Now I can’t have the wireless cam - which will display on the rearview mirror - because it is a factory-installed-only option. What it tells me though is that the mirror display is capable of more than one camera input, so there must be a way of splicing into the camera wiring and switching back and forth so you don’t loose the rearview cam that’s mounted on the cab.

The bed cam/digital rearview is what I’m after here.

Watch the video and you should be good to go if you will be going DIY. Message with any questions.
