Im stumped again. I replaced the needle bearing with the ECGS bushing, and followed Timmy the tool mans video pretty much exactly. Now im having this clunk noise only when its cold, and shifting from D to R or vice versa when the drivetrain preloads the opposite direction. I rechecked all the bolts loosened and re-torqued them, none of them were loose. diff fluid was replaced. Ball joints/boots all look good. cv shaft has minimal/normal play. U joints dont have any play in them either. It almost sounds like a cv axle pop but im failing to understand how it went bad from just removing/re-installing.

What else should i be checking?

Bump. Any insight appreciated. Starting to think the axle has just gone bad some how.

Is it the brake shoes moving inside the caliper?

I'm sure that you had to move the wheels , calipers, etc. to get the axel out to do the modification.

I thought about that and it doesnt necessarily sound like a brake clatter noise. Honestly it does sound like a CV binding/popping and its decently loud. Ive been meaning to zip tie my phone in the well to see if i can catch anything on camera

Any update on this? I've got the bushing on the way along with the removal tool and was planning to try and tackle it myself. Your post makes me a bit worried...
