Are people buying these things? I've been seeing them on transport trailers more and more. I haven't seen anybody driving one that looks registered. I like the idea of a VW van, but the $60k starting price! I stopped reading after I saw that.

When I think EV I don't think VW. There's all that hype around the Scout. I don't really want a $70k F-150 or Tundra, and the Scout is going to be all of $70k or more if the the ID Buzz starts at $60k. They'll be some early adopters if the Scout isn't cancelled before that, after it's delayed but I don't see continued support for an obscure off road oriented EV produced by VW. Hundreds of people can't keep a line of vehicles viable.

It really caught my eye when the concept was first introduced. So many cars on the road are boring. This has a coolness factor to it and the nostalgia is definitely there with the styling. The price was a shocker to me as well.

I don't think VW will sell a ton of them.
