    Hi all.

I just bought my 2017 Tacoma from my son who bought it new.

He got the very least expensive thing they had, which was a no options and a price reduction for deleting the back seat.

It only has 25,000 miles on it.

I’m looking to do number of upgrades, but in no particular order other than easiest first.

Remote start (including adding a remote).

Cruise control - finding it painful without at least basic cruise.

IVI upgrade to something with the largest screen and Apple CarPlay. I’m willing to try the $99 eBay specials since they seem to include everything needed to do the install, but I’d pay more for something higher quality or that preserves factory functionality better if that exists.

Looking at the it’s to add power locking to the rear tailgate.

Considering upgrading the wheels and tires to something with a little more truck like tread pattern, but concerned about noise. I like a quiet, comfortable ride on pavement, and good rain performance.

Would love a black running board or step for the front doors. The truck is white with black trim.

Very likely will pay someone good to install the most waterproof flip style bed cover I can get. They all tend to leak a bit but when I have had a good shop put them in they leak less than the factory (non-toyota) covers I have had.

Maybe a front license plate mount camera for close parking?

Possibly an updated calibration (AKA “tune”) if it can actually do much, but my experience has been these do more on forced induction trucks.

Open to more possibilities as well.

    Thanks!

This group already helped me find this kit for key only Tacomas that adds remote and remote start all at once.

As far as wheels and tires, you could always go the @SCSPerformance route. I have the SCS F5's on my Lunar Rock colored Tacoma and they look amazing, they are not horribly priced, and they even have a forum here for blemished wheels that I have yet to even see the "blemish" that was on my wheels. They're currently wrapped in K02's which are pretty good and not as noisy as other "off-road" tires, but in the rain they do slip just a tiny bit (I do have an OTT tune which ups the throttle input and this is only when going uphill..)
