I have my late husband's Tacoma XSP-X, and when someone borrowed it, this part was missing. I'm already upset to tell the whole story... So I hope someone can help me and tell me where can I find this missing part, and hoping it's a small thing to replace.

Thank you so much in advance.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's just a cover for the clips holding the plastic housing on. That's what it looks like to me, and I've never touched it on mine.

Yeah, mine's just got a gloss black cover there, looks like there should be a screw under that cover so you may want to secure it down, but should be no biggie otherwise. You could just cover it w/ a piece of electrical tape if you can't find a new cover.

Im not mr toyota know everything...
But my guess is that theres a cover for that hole..
That hole is to access the park lockout over-ride switch, which is what you see there....
All console shift vehicles have that over-ride, its so you can still shift vehicle in nuetral when it has a dead battery or no key, or defective shifter.......
Dont install a screw as suggested unless someone can actually verify, which im 99% sure nobody will verify that one...........

To the OP, go to your local dealer if you already looked around on the floor with a good flashlight & just order one, cant be more than $20....

That is the shifter release for shifting the vehicle without the key in the ignition. You can pop that out and the shifter moves freely.

A small hood scoop like cover goes on it.

Thank you for all the answer. I just detailed-clean, and did covered all the seats of my late husband's truck. And I should be installing that piece soon as I can order it.

Look under the seats including under the mats the seat tracks cup holders ashtrays anywhere a lost small piece of platic can hide. For some rearson those covers like to shoot a cross the interior. It's 4am I should have been in bed 6 hours ago, I'm hooked to the back of an Accord going down hill the alarm is honking away and I'm laying across the passenger seat press my little screwdriver into that slot pull up and that little tab bounces off the dome light never to be seen again. Until you look under the passenger seat with your flash light.

If it helps, here is a pic of it in the spot where it lives. Check the carpets in the area and you might spot it hiding somewhere.
