Just bumping this thread in hopes of finding someone semi-local. Would be willing to drive to the Portland area, Bend or possibly Tacoma area with my rear diff in a bucket but doesn't make sense if I need to go further; will just send out to ECGS.

Has anyone heard of Kaiser Performance? It’s located in Beaverton (per their contact info) and they specialize in differential rebuilds and gearing. Forgot how I came across it but haven’t seen any posts after a quick tacomaworld search.

    Watching.

Just got a quote from Das Mule in Tualatin for $1900 per diff and no warranty if I bring them my diffs in a bucket (since they won't be doing the install and test drive) and about $4000 for both front and rear done at their shop with installation. ECGS is hard to beat at ~$900 per diff and the best warranty in the business.

Whelp I'm in the market again, broke my rear gears yesterday. Fortunately just around the corner from my house and she was still rollin so I just crunched it to the driveway in 4wd. Sounds like I lost a few teeth off the ring gear. Frankly I'm surprised they lasted this long considering the circumstances.(8/2021 -> 1/2025) Weather lookin pretty shite so it can just sit in the driveway for now. Evaluating if I should just pull the trigger on the diamond now or slap a ECGS set in temporarily to get rollin.

Front and Rear Locked, 35’s, Chevy 63” swap, Fox Suspension and a bunch of other shit too long to list.
I Elocker swapped my Sport. I broke 3 ECGS 8.0 3rds before I swapped back in my Sport 8.4 with an ARB. Yes I know the 8.4 is really an 8.0 but I think you catch my drift. Not sure what rear axle is in your FJ. I haven’t had any problems with the ARB 8.4 combo. The ARB has 4 spider gears to spread the load. The 8.4” has the girdles to stop pinion deflection. In my opinion the Elocker is a weak ass diff.

FJ is just the e-locker 8". Tbh I'd probably be fine with an 8.2", but I want a real LSD more than anything and you only get them on the big-boiz. I'm stuck re-gearing either way, I'll probably use this.. opportunity? to drop back down to 4.56 as well..

Forgot to update this but Carl Wayne at Alison Power Systems in Sandy just regeared my front diff for pennies compared with the local "Overland" shops. Quick turnaround, too. Highly recommend.
