Hey guys, I need some wierd help. The exhaust shop near me wants $400 to weld on two mufflers on my sons project car. While I am sure his labor and scrap pipe is worth that, I don't have the budget. I also cannot weld stainless which the mufflers are thick stainless.

I know I can lap band clamp this but I am at my wits end with selecting the correct clamps. It doesn't seem to me that anyone has done this before and I KNOW someone has.

I am clamping 2.25" OD (stock pipe) to 2" OD (mufflers). I may need to add some pipe between to make up the gap.

I would love for someone to just give me the link to parts straight up LOL. If posting links doesn't violate posting rules

Pick your region, post there. Should get at least a recommendation for a trustworthy shop: https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/regions.36/

Not sure if I am understanding correctly or not.....

Buy 2 reducers at your local parts store - 2.25" ID to 2" ID and get the appropriately sized clamps to fit each side (4 total).

You probably already know this but, you can mig weld stainless with mild steel wire like a normal exhaust and it should be cheaper. The weld will rust though just like normal aluminized exhaust pipe
