Also should seek a refund from all younger children, as the entire reasoning for environmental standards to exist is to maintain a specific usable air quality for periods beyond each of our own existence.

I'll watch the news for you hustling 4th graders to repay for tuning your pickup truck.

Well to be fair, it is a government inflation calculator.

    https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl?cost1=25000&year1=200601&year2=202501

So depending on which crackpot podcast anyone listens to, the answer could very well be yes.

Though most people that don't listen to sensationalist podcasters would consider a government source to be a little more reputable.

But inflation calculators are everywhere. Give it a try on another one, and then bask in the glow of the understanding of how truly poor and worse off newer generations are than you ever were at any point in your life.

Just a simple inflation calculator. Tacomas weren't cheaper back in the day, they basically cost the same now as they did then.

He's right you know.. Without a doubt the biggest fail in Tacoma history, the weak engine and transmission shift points. Side note, the tune doesn't REALLY fix the problem. It helps but it still shifts like shit.

Aside from that, it is the best looking gen Tacoma!

Yep, that's my experience as well. I have the lite/mild OTT tune and it's certainly better than stock, but still not perfect. Mine will still randomly downshift for a split second and rev up the RPMs right before shifting into the next gear. Doesn't gear hunt nearly as much though, so I won't complain too much.

should have gotten a MT, shifting problem solved and you also get some better gearing in the diffs

but then there is the accumulator, the reverse gear taller than the Space Needle, and having to rev it like a civic...

like someone said, warts and all

I'm happy without a tune. I have yet to see a tune actually make a substantial difference to make it worth it. Besides the warranty issue and the potential loss of reliability and the chance of bricking the ecu. I bought my truck knowing what it is and what it isn't. If I actually needed more, I'd sell it and get something else.

I honestly don’t even think about it . I drive it to where I need to go, use it for what I need to do . Take really good care of it inside and out . Always look back at it because I love the way it looks . So I leave it alone . The great thing about it is I know it will always bring back good value. Is it quirky here and there
Yes. So why overthink it . It’s just like if you start reading about health things you can work yourself up into thinking anything. Before the internet , if you didn’t read car magazines or articles on a particular vehicle . You went to a showroom , saw a car , sometimes didn’t even drive it . Bought it ,took it home and it was what it was . You hoped it was a reliable vehicle. But you literally had no idea . Now people have way too much info . I guarantee there are tons of Tacoma owners that have no idea about any issues . They jump in there truck and drive it period . I know me myself started paying attention to things I never would have just from reading about it on this forum .

TBH I was looking for a manual, but in December of 23' I couldn't find any new ones near me. So I had to make a decision to get me closer to what I wanted in an alternative way. Love the look and utility of the vehicle but the pedal response was trash. Its fixed now!

Some people are not Truck people and don't know how to "listen" to their vehicle when driving. Just like some people are not Dog People.
Recently I sat in the back of a buddy's relatively newer Ford F150 4x4. There was a definite "whine" somewhere in the drivetrain. I asked him,
is this a Hybrid? I probably won't say anything to him any further....maybe after a couple of beers...
