    Good afternoon forum!

Does anyone else like the TRD Off-road grill more than the Pro?

Every time I see an Off Road on the road I can’t help but stare at how good that grill looks (at least to me) and it’s making me wonder how my taco would look with one on. It’ll have to be black to go with my theme.
Also, after parking next to this beaut, I realized I’d like to be taller, and so does my truck, and beefier too.

So what are your thoughts on the grill? I know the PRO is a very common modification, and it almost makes it feel not very special

Dunno that I like it more but I do like it a lot ….especially the red with the led's. Eveytime I see a truck like the pictured truck I hate the scoop on my pro.

Agree…my 19 sport had the chrome-ish “cheese grater” grill. When that one came out in I think it was the 2020, I had to swap it out, which was actually really easy to find, as plenty of other owners around me were doing the pro grill swap and selling theirs. Found one for $80 right off a brand new truck and sold my grill and and the chrome bezel to an SR5 owner for $50.

I think it’s just a matter of individual preference if you like the OR change it. I personally like the Pro but nearly every 3rd gen has one I guess that kinda tells you it’s the preferred grill.

I like both. My '17 Off Road came with a chrome grill, which just looked stupid!!!!

Had the dealership switch it before I brought it home....

Pro grills are cool, but everybody has them. I have a 19 off-road model and I just took off the grill and spray painted it flat black, including the bezel. The earlier ones with heaps of chrome are awful, though.

i never understood the draw to change the grills out either. OP since you asked; I’d leave the grill and the suspension alone, you have a nice truck, but in the end it’s yours, do whatever makes your kickstand hit the ground.

I come from modifying VWs/Audis so I’m always looking to do something to make the vehicle more my style, granted, this time I got the top of the line truck, which doesn’t leave you room for much, but as some members stated here, every time I see a 3rd gen, there’s a high chance they are rocking the Pro grill. I’ve always like simplicity, and I think the OR grill with the Toyota emblem does just that. I might end up getting once since I can see they go for cheap and test if I like the look. as far as the suspension, I’ve read plenty and unless I spend a few grand on upgrading, anything else I’d be downgrading, so for now it’ll stay like that. Shoot, I even like the stock wheels even though they are 16’s. I just wish they were a bit wider.
Thanks for all the input and opinions! I find it interesting seeing what people like and go for.

You wanna be unique, you wanna stand out from the crowd. When the rest of the sheep are being herded up, you run the other way to forge your own path because you're a leader, not a follower, I GET IT!
Ditch that grill and replace it with a spray painted piece of plywood and slap an FX4 emblem on the sides of your bed. You'll thank me later when the sheep start following you instead of the shepherd.
    Go get em Tiger!

I like the "stupid" chrome grill on my black 2016 sport. To each his own. Do what you like.

The only real issues with this is the pro tss sensor is re positioned to work with its higher level. Hence why the trd lift kit comes with a replacement grille. Now the majority of us swap to a heritage grille and don't lift and don't have issues. But just something else to consider

    But it’s just a lookalike
Tbh I was looking at a really sweet sport at the dealership when I got my truck. The thing I see on that hood is one more thing I gotta finger fuck with a terry cloth or special brush to get clean.

IMG_5283.jpg I think they both look good. But I am happy with the OR grill. I think it looks pretty sharp if you ask me.

Changed out my stock grill for a billet T Rex grill. I like to think outside the Pro box.
