I-40 just reopened(partially) and I drove past the entrance to Hurricane Creek today. The gate was closed. I wonder if the Hurricane took out Hurricane Creek Rd. That would be the ultimate irony.
Seriously though, with all those creek crossing I'm betting it took significant damage. We witnessed the aftermath today along I-40 and it was insane how high the Pigeon River got. They are saying it will take years to fully repair that stretch of the interstate.

A) I bet the trail is fubar B) USFS has been threatening to shut that trail down for years cause of stupid people not staying on trail and C) just having the interstate being shut down, USFS probably shut the gate to keep stupid people from accessing I40 from that trail
