Our pooch is a mut from the pound.
Supposedly a Shepard Husky mix, as well. He sure is vocal, like a Husky.

Its just time, I usually adopt older dogs so I go through this more than I would like.

What has worked for me is minimize their time alone and try not to be sad around them, they pick up on that. If possible get a play date with other dogs going or go to a dog park to let them socialize. Besides that, just like with people only time will let them get over the loss.

 

Thank you! It’s tough for all but the playtime has been good for all of us that’s for sure. We went and bought her some new extra toys to keep her occupied

Lagertha waiting for dad to get her out for the walk at the kids baseball game. With the loss of our Chief, she has been super sad at home alone and normally hates being in the truck but has taken to it a little more now.

 

Took an act of congress and a handful of treats but we finally got all three to sit.

My daughter found an old one of Koda. She was the best trained german shepherd ever. I just noticed my daughter is actually standing on Koda's foot.
