Ok not really but here goes,

While washing and more recently installing bed cover I noticed a mechanical sound coming from the mid/rear area. Its very short, not doors locking or the chirp of security. Truck is parked (P) and Im in and out of doors moving around. I've heard it twice now but once each instance if taht makes sense.

Is there a safety system happening that Im new too? My '13 Audi S4 would make peculiar noises while stationary and me moving around the vehicle.

    Curious
    Thanks

Did your dealership splice in any aftermarket electronic device that they are so famous for doing these days?

Can you describe it other than a "mechanical" sound? And does it happen to sound like the evap purge that's listed in the owners manual?

If it's a squeaking sound, that's the rubber gasket between the bed and the body. Hit it with some silicone spray.

If youre referring to how it lets out a little queef as youre walking away from the truck about 30 seconds after you turn the truck off, it is the electric parking brake tightening.

It will do this a couple times if you sit there and wait for it.

Something about tightening a little bit more as the brakes cool.

Be happy that it doesnt ask for food afterward.

Actually It reminded me of my Audi's electronic brake engaging but that vehicle did it much sooner.
It does sound like a servo motor engaging and it makes sense that it might engage after cooling a bit.

I also wonder if its a fuel pump primer when the key fob is detected nearby.
Still looking over the owner's manual for clues.

This is not the S10 my father-in-law owned lol!

ive heard the parking brake noise and one that doesnt go off until maybe 10-15 min after ive shut the truck off. it sounds normal to me given the amount electronics on these vehicles now.
