Well a month ago I bought a 2010 DC TRD PreRunner short wheel base. I am pretty happy its my first new truck ever! I have a huge concern right off the bat. I have got any where from 330 to 360 to 400 to 315 miles out of a tank of gas??? Now i drive my truck really easy because its new and well its a v6. I got out of a v8 Titan ext cab that got 335 out of a tank of gas. So at first I was super happy about gas now its only got worse. Now being a newbie I did my research first and found most people getting what i got out of the first few tanks ....... great but I am now getting worse. So everyone is raving about a airfilter from ALE or ASE something of that. But when I go to the website they dont make one for my truck!!!! So what do I do????

    PLEASE HELP

    Thanks in advance.

You know I have used K&N before but people on here seem to stay away from them because of the fact they use oil? What is ur thought?

I had a K and N filter and it did nothing for my gas mileage. It just made my truck run like crap, so I went back to the stock filter.

To the OP, that mileage sounds very good. I rarely get close to 300 on a tank.

Also, a quick google search shows the Titans gas tank hold 28 gallons. The Tacoma's tank is 21...

I understand the Titan has a larger tank but the fluctuaton from 330, 360, 400, 330 what is that all about? I guess I have done everything there is to do with mods. I used to have a 97 Cherokee that I added 6" lift and 33" tires and sway bar discos an steering stablizers and throttle body space, K&N and exhaust things like that. I would only like to get the best mpg I can with what I got and aftermarket parts that are availible to me. It just seems like more people get better mpgs then myself? Or am I just way over thinking this?

Welcome to TW... I would start by looking into getting either a scangauge or an ultragauge. This way you could really monitor what kind of milage you are getting. Then go from there.
