I was just going to ask this question myself. I'm curious. I'm coming up on 75k on my 4cyl 2.7 and wondered if it mattered or not... when I see this kind of thing ("high mileage" oil) I think "marketing gimmick" but I don't really know.

It's marketing in my opinion. Maybe there are some additives in it, who knows.

Full syn 6-7000mi in my 2.7l. Coming up on 250k and been doing that interval since I got it with 89k. I drive 500mi a week just in commuting. Mobil1 0w20.

This is the valve train when I did valve cover gasket at around 200k. I did not wipe anything off. Clean as pin.

    I believe it is marketing.

I use a 60's vintage safety razor with double edged blades. I don't see the need for lubricating strips and 5 blades to accomplish what was accomplished 60 years ago with a simple razor, a shaving brush, and some shaving cream in a tube.

Use a decent quality oil. Change it regularly and you will be fine. I have 135,000 mi on my 2009; I had over 200,000 mi on my Yaris.

Normal services allows you the time to look over every thing while changing the oil.
