I love Adam’s stuff, their Graphene Detail spray especially. Makes the truck shine and lasts longer than anything else I’ve tried. Try the concentrated version if you really want to be impressed.

Just ordered the interior led kit from VLED since my work bonus is coming this week and I’ve been itching to do something else to the truck, even something very minor like that.

Also, last week I added some hitch receiver bling (go birds):

    Screenshot 2025-03-10 at 10.15.11 PM.png

Unrelatedly; I’ve been wiping down the underside of the truck for a bit here and there, scrubbing off some minor frame rust and spraying some protective/preventative paint in preparation for a rust prevention coating, and I noticed… something. Probably innocuous and nothing to think twice (or even once about) but I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask some more experienced folks. Been searching online in and outside of TW and came up short.

I noticed what looks like some soot or a collection of dry black shmutz in the red outlined part where the transmission housing meets the engine, right next to the oil pan- It looked like the spot in blue outlining before I wiped it off; thought I would clean it off so that I can pop down there and monitor periodically. Looks normal-ish, dry, and more like airborne particles collecting than dried liquid, but do you all see any cause for concern, leak-wise? I didn’t pop off the clip and check the main seal yet- didn’t really see a need at this point.

    Thanks in advance!

Zoomed out for orientation. Full disclosure: This image was pulled off of the Caliraisedled website from https://caliraisedled.com/products/catalytic-converter-shield-for-2016-2023-toyota-tacoma; an image for their cat shields. Was the first picture that came to mind that clearly showed the joint between trans and engine.

It actually was the Graphene detail spray, lol. Always been a wax guy, slowly trying the ceramic stuff.

That's right next to one of the Ujoints that I grease regularly. Does your driveshaft have grease zerks?

How are you liking these? Do they do anything for the spray?

They do a good job of protecting that area of the paint for sure. I went with these because I've always thought full mudflaps in front of running boards looks terrible. I haven't taken the rear flaps off to see if those are also damaged, but if they are, I might do these in the rear too. They obviously won't provide much rock protection to those behind me, but they also don't look as ugly as full mudflaps either. I wish Ark made the same style of full flaps as they do for the 4th gen. They look much better than the ones they make for the 3rd gen.

You couldn't pay me to have black wheels, from 20 ft away they look like black holes and can't see any detail on the wheels

As I understand it, 2020 and later driveshafts are sealed and so there are no greasable zerks.

How did you mount the traction boards to the back of the bed as shown? Looks pretty low profile which I like, and it looks like it works with a tonneau - I'm looking for an option like this. Thanks.

They are worthless for water/mud. I have not noticed any significant rock sounds (dings and bonks and such) though. They look cool. I'll leave em on. Because ricer forever.

I do wish they would cover a bit more. If ARK releases a new revision, I will buy it.
