I'm struggling with what lift and wheels and tires to go with on a 4000.00 dollar budget. I don't want to buy it and then have the tires not fit becasue i bought wrong wheels, lift etc. I have a 2019 trd pro and the shocks and struts are bad and need to replace. I orginially was going to go with westcott and tires, but now looks like I need to replace the shocks. What would you guys go with? I would like to go 285's if possible. Can i clear 285's with icon stage one kit and be level. This is my first post. i just got my truck. Thanks for any help or insite.

You're in the 3rd gen forum, your post says 2019, but your profile says you have a 15, which is a 2nd gen.

    You're profile also shows mods.

    A bit confusing.

    1) what are we actually working with here?

    2) have you perused the suspension and wheels / tires forum?

    3) are these changes for function or the mall?

    4) if function, how will the truck actually be used?

    5) miles on the truck? Curious about a 19 pro having bad shocks already.

If its for offroad functionality for a reasonably priced but maximizing functionality lift I would personally go with this: 1iin oem rear lift block from the TRD lift kit. Archive garage u-bolt flip kit (you need new u-bolts anyway). Bilstein 5125 33-230337 shocks in the rear and 5100s in the front set to beteeen 1 and 1.5inches of lift.

Zero offset wheels or spacers to get your current wheels there if you want 285s. A good amount of clearancing will be required to fit them.

I did have a 2015. Sold it a while back. I just got back into a toyota. 2019 trd pro. My truck has 79000. I daily drive and use it for hunting. There is a loud griding and squeeking sound, check the wheel barrings and they are good, so the only conculusing I could come up with is shocks. When I bounce it is squeeks bad. Not a mechanic one bit, try and learn from others and youtube. I was going to just get a westcott lift and but bigger tires on, but now i'm concerned about my front shocks. Hope this makes sense. Just trying to get some insite and help. That is all.

If your truck has the Fox TRD Pro shocks then they should be rebuildable, much cheaper than replacing with new shocks of equivalent capability. THe Bilsteins you noted are an upgrade for most trims but IMO are a downgrade from TRD Pro suspension (context: I had TRD Pro suspension both stock and Wescott lift on my 2020 until last year). Use the Wescott option if you really want more ride height and are already going to be having the shocks taken apart to be rebuilt, just note it doesn't offer actual performance benefits and it will stiffen your ride up overall.

A 265/75R16 tire (~32" or one size up from stock) is the logical choice because it will fit stock with no rubbing anywhere even under full steering lock and articulation, or any modifications needed. Will even work with OEM mudflaps. Can confirm this from my personal experience, and it minimizes the performance and drivability losses from bigger tires. I've read that 255/75R16s (i.e. a skinny 33" "pizza cutter") also can clear if on positive offset wheels and my go-to offroad shop told me the size usually will fit if using wheels with a positive offset (but with some variation depending on specific tire model/make), but I can't confirm from personal experience yet. Downside is it's not a common tire size so options are more limited.

If you have stock Pro wheels already I would personally only replace them if you are set on going to a 17" wheel size to avoid worrying about backspacing, offset, wheel width, and other factors that all increase the chance of rubbing the front wheel wells.

Thanks. I live in a little town and not sure there is a place that rebuilds them. I have thought of that and just keeping with my current setup. So much to think about, can be overwhelming. Everyone in my little town runs icons or kings know matter what trim level.

Pressure wash your rear leaf springs and I bet that sound goes away. They get really squeaky when dirt gets between the leaves.

Also jack up each corner 1 at a time and move the wheels with your hands and check for play in bushings and anything that looks loose or wrong. Suspension problems can sometimes be rather obvious.

For $4k, buy whatever 33" tire you desire. Spend the rest on a drop in third and clamshell with lockers and lower gearing from ecgs. This will take you further offroad than any lift will with that budget, but that's just what I'd do with $4k

Just buy new tires, keep the wheels, and put that saved money into other upgrades. Unless you really hate the TRD pro wheels.
I agree rebuilding the TRD pro fox shocks. but if you keep the wheels thats enough money to do full suspension change if you really want to.
Fox 2.0 adjustable resi and Icon RX leaf pack got me increased payload and performance, with a bit of a lift (wasnt looking to lift just ancillary benefit) on my daily driver. total cost was <3k. 1k left to put towards 33s of your choosing. Im going pizza cutters next time im due tires, skinny is the new wide!

Yeah, whatever you do don’t throw away your existing trd pro shocks. There is a market for them, rebuilt or not.

I wouldn't be happy with any of the parts with that budget.

$4k for wheels and tires. Yes.

$4k for wheels, tires and lift. Lord no.

First of all, when you state 285's it means nothing without the aspect ratio and wheel diameter. A 16" wheel or 17" is obviously an inch different in diameter. On a width of 285 the difference between a 70 and a 75-aspect ratio would be another inch difference in diameter.
