Rad Rubber Engine Splash Guards

Hey all,

Did a quick search and didn't see anyone posting up about the Rad Rubber engine splash guards for 2nd gen Tacos so figured I'd do a quick write up. Check it out if you'd like!

Figured I'd piggyback onto this thread rather than create a new one. Just like the OP, I also installed these on my truck but unfortunately found the product to be utter garbage. Exactly a year after install I noticed mine are already deteriorating and starting to fall off.

I replaced my OE ones with Ark splash gaurds and they have been holding up really well so far. Been on for just shy of a year.

 

My Rad Rubber guards didn’t even last one Maine winter. I’m going to try the Ark

 

lots of people cut their own splash guards for like 20$ or less and some scissors.. there’s even some templates floating about if search diy splash guards..

here’s mine for my 4Runner,

I only had drivers side to trace so my passenger side front piece is bit little off, has an extra hole and bit of flap as it normally doesn’t go behind the washer fluid reservoir, but there’s a hole there and I zipped tied it through that hole as well.. holding up nicely in PNW, rubber came on a roll at Home Depot

 

What material did you use to make the new ones?

 

Seems somewhat silly but flooring runner from Home Depot. Sold by the foot at my local HD so it was super cheap.. I was somewhat skeptical if that would be the right material but they still have held up and look perfect to this point, been pleasantly surprised.

Fitment was good material is holding up so far I don't have any real complaints
