Well if you close those vents off and have a wreck, the pressure wave that goes off from the air bags will blow your ear drums and do other damage as well. It regulates the air pressure from closing the door and the air bags going off. I wouldn’t do that if I was you. Sometimes the rubber in the flaps get rigid from time or or things, so I’d replace the vents, or if you do decide to seal them up leave one in the middle alone, usually water follows corners and lines so it would be best to leave the middle alone.
