The dealership just called, the timing cover is leaking. Thankfully, 80kkm left on my warranty for this $3500 CAD job. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

Wow, I really thought this was resolved after 2017. Sad to hear it's still happening to newer model years as well.

My 2016 has the same issue but is out of warranty. I plan on attempting to seal the leak externally before even considering paying $6k USD to do the repair work.

How much oil do you leak between oil changes from the timing cover? Wondering if it's worth the repair cost.

My Jeeps have ways puked oil from valve cover gaskets and the rear main seal. Not really worth repairing.

I just recently purchased the truck and did the first oil change when I noticed the leak. It wasn't dripping and leaving any drops on my driveway at the time, but certainly looked like it had been leaking for awhile given how much I cleaned up the underside of the truck.

My Jeeps have also always leaked from the rear main seal (much worse than the Tacoma).
