Than look it up in the manual.…. I have a limited hybrid. What’s the deal with the “s” detent, mine is on 3??? With the hybrid system does changing that do anything? If so what?
I have not tried yet so my bad on that.
I do currently have an excuse had elbow reconstruction yesterday and can’t drive for a while so living online at the moment as crazy questions pop into my head

“S” allows you to set the maximum gear ratio the transmission will use. “S3” would be a maximum of third, so it’ll use first, second, and third. It’ll allow for more control in situations where you don’t want to use higher gear ratios.

I believe that driving in S also disables the hybrid’s engine start-stop. Some folks have taken to putting it in S8 for normal driving because they don’t like the start-stop.

since your layed up.. read the owners manual it will waste more time than posting on here and you will learn more. S is also use din mountains when you want more engine braking. going down steep mountain pass you may want it in S2 or S3

Just play with it. The only time I use it is towing or when I’m in 4LO.
