I don't have any photos handy. But the bolts and other metal bits are black. I'm sure Rust-o-leum is cheaper and will make equally black bolts.

    But for how long?

I re-painted TRD skid black w the Rust-Oleum truck bed spray and have had to touch up way more frequently, maybe because of where it is, or maybe because Rust-o-leum < POR-15.

No doubt the interwebs compares these options, and other options like Steel-It.

Quick question and maybe someone on here can answer. I bought some SS bolts from Home Depot to replace my broken one for the load bars. Will the SS bolts rust when bolted onto the prinsu rack? It’s been like a week in the rain and nothing so far that I can tell. But I’ve read online that SS fastener will rust with aluminum. Is that true? If I buy some SS bolts from this link (https://www.mcmaster.com/#97763A267) to use for my load bars. Will that prevent rust?

SS does not rust, however SS will have a chemical reaction with the aluminum and break down the aluminum over time. Use anti seize on the SS bolt threads to create a barrier between the two metals.

Great! You answered my question! Another question I have, how much anti do I need to put on the bolt to create enough barrier? This is what I have for anti seize

@perkj The black fairings screws link is sending me to the McMasters landing page. Any chance of an update?

Don’t kill yourself looking for black stainless. Consider taking the powdercoat route on something cheaper. You’ll get more options for fitment and can match the Prinsu color & texture better.

    hope that helps

If these aren't what you're looking for, I'm sure you coul find something on McMaster. I used aluminum black spacers on mine for some other applications and never had an issue with strength or rust. Just make sure it's stainless or aluminum. I'd avoid black oxide if I could. Those seem to rust the easiest. I also eventually had to switch out all of my original Prinsu hardware for legit rustproof stuff from McMaster. I had my Taco in super wet areas (southern Louisiana and SE Texas) so it was always out in the rain. That Prinsu HW all eventually rusted up or seized. I probably should have done better with swapping stuff out, but just didn't. You should be able to find anything you need for your rack here. Tnutz has other stuff that's affordable, but make sure it's not that black oxide crap or it'll rust.

Appreciate it all. Interestingly, all the top rack hardware quickly oxidized and turned reddish yellow. The cab rack hardware still looks brand new.
Appreciate the feedback. I’ll find something from McMaster.
