That might work if you only eat crackers. But if you make a big plate of chicken biryani, you'll need two of those just for one poop.

And they can often be found in thrift stores where proceeds support something like Hospice or the local homeless for pennies on the dollar.

Fancy stuff. When I'm out fishing and start to feel bubble guts I bend my knees, put my back up to and lean on a tree.
Hopefully I have some t.p. handy or a sock is getting used.
No need to dig a hole.
Deer, bear and coyotes don't dig a hole.

I prep bags ahead of time of dog poop bags and a little kitty litter in them. If it’s a long trip there’s always a bit of downtime as well to do extra / more bag prep and gear organization. You can also buy wag bags to avoid prep work, and always bring several extra for yourself and others. Frankly the litter is optional but does help smell and squishiness.

When it’s time for the morning constitutional I grab the TP, wet wipes, and a bag. Find a spot, squat and do the deed (squatting helps you go easier/faster as it’s better form), wipe with tp and wet wipe then throw them onto the pile, pick up the whole pile with the baggie. Just like I do with the dogs whom I almost always travel with. No setup and teardown, it’s all very quick.

For storage I either have: some kind of sealed bucket / bin / whatever in the bed OR I have a separate, heavier-duty (doody) bag alongside my trash bag in a tailgate trash bag. The latter is my preferred method as it keeps the smells furthest from the cab and if someone steals the contents that’s a win for me. Trash transfer stations will usually let you dispose of a bag of trash (I’ll combine them) for a dollar or two. Moab had a nice lady that just let me chuck one for free; I think she was surprised a camper actually took the time to go to the trasnsfer station instead of a random dumpster in town.

We used a Gamma Seal lid on a Home Depot bucket for 3 years before getting our Scout Camper with a little Dometic portable/flushable toilet.

When we got to camp we'd unscrew the lid and place a trash bag over the rim, and then screw the lid in place (the bag doesn't block the threads). For each use, we'd unscrew the lid, put another smaller bag over the opening, throw in some cat litter, and do our business. Then tie the bag off (try to get some air out of it first or the bucket would fill up fast), and drop it in, and screw the lid back on. Wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world, cause we didn't want to deal with a pool noodle, but it was a lifesaver when we needed it. When done for the weekend, just unscrew the lid, tie off the larger bag, and toss in the trash.

We only ever used it for #2, as the woods are easy enough for the other. The poop-bucket really was a game changer for us. A friend's wife got food poisoning one day while we were on the trail, and she was extremely thankful for it. We've used it cliff side out in the open before, or within our awning room, whatever works.

Dig a hole, wag bag, bucket or groover. Any will work some better than others. Digging a hole seems to be going out of style with the whole leave no trace philosophy.

Make sure they know to go number one prior to number two outside of chosen receptacle

Also, none of them crowd into a handful of specific parks and trails by the millions every season.
    Or use tp.

edit: I should say that perhaps deer do move seasonally in large relatively concentrated numbers. So exemptions should be granted to all those who's poop consists of lightly masticated leaves and twigs.

Chicken, broccoli and rice drops a big load, but a Chipotle Bowl with double meat and a chippy drops a dumper the size of Texas.

Get some Dude Wipes. Kick a layer of dirt or leaves away. Squat poop, clean up with Dude Wipes and cover up with more dirt leaves. Tell the wife and kids to man-up or stay home.

    https://dudewipes.com/

I could write a book about pooping. I'm not kidding, I've had adventures in pooping you'd not believe. Let's just say I haven't been to Jackson Hole in 25 years and I'm probably not welcome there.

Of course, that happens when you spend as much time outside as I do hunting, fishing and hiking. I've left untold numbers of underwear in the woods, used leaves and socks in the past. Actually, a glove works great and if you have the cheap cotton work gloves you aren't losing a lot to leave one behind. But anymore I never leave home without my Dude Wipes.

Another vote for the Luggable Loo, it works great and is easily portable to poop spot of your choice, preferably with a spectacular view. River Groovers made from ammo cans are a more sturdy and secure container, you’ll want to fashion a lid for it unless you want to do the “hovercraft” over the rectangular opening.
One thing to consider with all of these options is to be sure to pee outside the container first. You don’t want to be dealing with pee that can leak and slosh around. Solids only!
