Anyone upgraded to the LandCruiser 200 series steering rack without adding long travel? I've noticed that the Tundra rack upgrades all require the +3.5 LT kit in order to fit, but what about the LandCruiser 200 series? I don't want to spend the money on long travel and I don't have time to build it myself but my steering rack really doesn't like me wheeling with 35" tires.

Who said you need to be long travel to run a tundra rack?

Don't need LT setup for Tundra rack. You will lose some turning radius tho

All the companies that sell the conversion say the Tundra rack has to be machined and retapped and from what I've seen the marlin crawler "Mar Rack" requires replacing the tie rod ends with heims and using their spindles. Can I just install an un modified Land Cruiser 200 rack or a Tundra rack and use OEM tie rod ends?

I love my tundra rack from Solo. I broke it once and was replaced for free. Set it up with Hymes.. or the cheep stock tie rod will be the weakest link. Carry a dozen with you and you will be just fine…

It's cut down and retapped solely so you can use oem tacoma tie rods. Me personally I'd run factory tie rods rather than heims. Much prefer changing a tie rod on the trail than anything else.
