    Hey Taco lovers,

I know we all, or most, have been keeping an eye out for new Easter eggs left for our finding by the Toyota design team.

Looking under the passenger side rear seat, we know there is a little Easter egg truck molded into the mat.

But what is this? I have been trying to recognize the pattern but can’t seem to see what they were going for. Can any of you see some recognizable shape? There is obviously some intention here.

You know, I initially took your suggestion in jest but I think you may be right.

Why do you think the Toyota designers would insert the state of Michigan?

I know others, like the control arms with NC and Ca, were because some design team in those states had something to do with the design effort. Was there some collaborative effort with someone in Michigan?

At least we found a new Easter egg that I don’t believe anyone else has found.

    Ahhhhh …. I see now.

Here’s a quote from the Taco 2024 release:
“Toyota’s North American-based CALTY Design Center located in Newport Beach, California and Ann Arbor, Michigan led the design efforts for the new Tacoma”

"The fourth-generation Toyota Tacoma was revealed on May 19, 2023.[82] It is built on Toyota's TNGA-F global body-on-frame vehicle platform, shared with the larger Toyota Tundra (XK70).[83] The Tacoma was designed by teams at Toyota's Calty Design Research facilities in California and Michigan with the intention "to be authentic to the way our customers use their trucks for rugged outdoor fun", according to Calty president Kevin Hunter, who explained the truck was styled with "the iconic Tacoma look, referred to as 'Tacoma-ness'", including "high lift, big tires, slim body, and a powerful athletic stance" as inspired by prior Toyota Bajatrophy racing trucks.[84]"

Quite possible a tribute to Calty.

Well, the Taco on the other side of the underside of the rear passenger seat looks like it’s climbing up the state of California.

And under the drivers side rear seat, maybe this is a representation of Tacos on Black Bear Pass.

“The team enhanced Tacoma’s off-road capability, from severe rock crawling to high-speed desert racing. As a result, Tacomas will perform in widely varied environments, on road and off. This includes everything from a luxurious night in the Limited grade or traversing Black Bear Pass in the Tacoma TRD Off-Road that is more capable than ever.”

Under the hood there is a little truck and taco as well as coordinates. Morse code on the windshield that says bad ass trucks.

Another Easter egg found, at least in my TRD Off Road, was in the headlights. On a foggy night, you can see that as the beam of light comes out of the headlight, the "TRD" legend becomes visible.
