I put in new ignition cylinder and somehow lost my steering lock

Thanks to everyone who took a moment to answer my questions on my last post. And if you have a damn key that gets stuck and won't turn and have to keep reversing it and spraying WD40 in there and turning the wheel back & forth like I did. I can tell you changing the cylinder lock took me 20 minutes max, and the NAPA part was $45. You can get them a lot cheaper on Amazon, but look at the photo and they might send you the wrong part and you won't get the instant return like I did at NAPA.

You see the shorter cylinder in the photo, that is the original 1996 cylinder for 5-speed and tilt steering. The longer one is what NAPA sold me. So, I had to put my truck back together, drive back to NAPA, pray they had the right part in stock, then tear it down again in their parking lot in the freezing ass rain and hope that it works.

Now, the key works great, but I have no more steering wheel lock. I do not care about steering lock, you will lose that anyway when the thieves bust your lock, but I'm worried that now there may be something in the steering column that will come back to bite me and lock up the wheel as I'm driving.

Anyone know why I lost my steering wheel lock?
