Howdy lads, I had a leak in my radiator recently and I wasn't aware of if until I noticed the engine temp soaring. Radiator and coolant reservoir were bone dry. To put a "band-aid" on it, I purchased a bottle of Stop-Leak and coolant to get me by. Since then, the radiator has been replaced but now I have no AC. I'm guessing the Stop-Leak may have seized the thermostat, but I wanted to ask the group if you guys may have any ideas as to what the problem could be and how I can get the AC cold again, especially with temperatures rising. Thanks in advance.

The condenser is right up front by the radiator, it kinds makes me wonder if they hit something causing a leak, since it sounds like it worked before you had the radiator replaced.

I suspect exactly what @Chew has said take to AC shop and have them put some gauges on it I suspect you have a leak and your refrigerant is low.

Agree with what Chew said. Plus hope you flushed coolant system. Heater core will plug next with that stop leak. Very costly/expensive to replace. Whole dash has to come out. If it wasn't flushed, I would think about doing so. Just an FYI...

While I wouldn't touch any of it with a ten foot pole today, when I was young and poor, I used all manner of stop leak, from the Bar's Leak pellets, to the aluminum flakes, all the way to eggs and pepper.
Never had any of it clog a thermostat.

As mentioned, you likely need to visit the AC shop.

R1234YF is whole other ball of wax, not many shops are familiar with it or have the equipment($6-7000) or the refrigerant($$$) to work on that.

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
R1234YF has been out for at least 8 years. By now, any good shop has the tools to deal with it as too many cars now use it.
