Recently got a set of Tundra TRD Pro 18 in forged BBS wheels with Wildpeak 285/65/18 swapped onto my TRD Sport and the app says tires are inflated to anywhere from 43-47 psi now whereas before the app said stock wheelset/tires (MIchelin 265/65/18) were 34. I really like the change so far, but do sense the tires are rock hard. What psi should they be set at???
    Thanks,

Take a look at the sticker in your door jam and use that as a guide. If need be then do the chalk test.

Doesn't matter. Still a good starting point

Don't confuse air volume (bigger tires) and air pressure..

The ideal air pressure will give you even wear across the tire. Follow that pressure calculator for the best attempt to set the air pressure correctly for normal driving. If you load the bed, you will want to increase the air pressure no more than the listed max pressure. As the tire wears you will be able to see the wear pattern and make adjustments accordingly.

The tool Rock Lobster listed ( ) can advise the correct pressure for your new tires based on the door placard pressure for the originals.

Tire pressure is one thing but keep in mind that you went from a highwall all season to an all terrain tire so the Michelin's will obviously have a smoother ride

Are the Wildpeaks load E ?

43-47 seems a bit high to me.

It’s really not a good starting point because the new tire is a completely different load range and doesn’t require the same volume of air to maintain its shape.

If they’re load E, then you would want to air them to 38 psi to match the stock door sticker pressure of 32 psi.

If they are SL rated and not LT E, you would want to run them at 29 psi.

There are at least FOUR current versions of "Wildpeaks" in 285/65-18.

    A/T4W = E range
    A/T4W & A/T3W = SL range
    R/T01 = E range

Gotta be specific. There are no minder readers here.
