    Hi all,

I have a 2012 Tacoma with about 120k miles. Looks like there is recommended service for 120k but it is $1,300 at my dealer for the basic package. It feels like a ton of money for my beloved truck that I don't drive that much. Any thoughts?

Look in the maintenance schedule in the owners manuals and just do what is called for. NO RECOMMENDED stuff . That's how the dealers pad the bill and pay for those nice new buildings.

Thank you for the quick responses. If anyone know a reputable mechanic near Portland, Maine. I would be grateful for the name.

Find out what is required in the Manual . Then just get those services done … lots of the stuff is recommended but not required .i would call around for different prices at other dealers . In my state I have found a dealer that charges less than a local auto shop. Sometimes dealers will have service discount with more items you buy .

Did you try to negotiate price at the dealership? On my last major service dealership wanted 1,500 and negotiated down to 1,100
