    1. that is a good point. I read a post on a Porsche forum. This guy had a Porsche and a Tacoma. Because the Tacoma has a purpose. He once had a B5 Audi. He said the Tacoma was the hardest to drive stick he’d ever experienced. I agree. The flywheel is slow. The synchros are slow. And so on.

not only have I driven stick my whole life including multiple vehicles, but I am a mechanic. Many client vehicles are stick. I have driven M3’s. 997’s. They are laughably and pleasurably easier to drive.

    2. all this talk about school. In Finland, part of the driving test for a teenager requires holding an opposite lock drift. Not hard.
Do they in the US? No. They tell you stupid incorrect shit like put your hands at 10 and 2. Are they going to teach you how to heel toe downshift? No.
Meaning they are worth jack shit. That is something you teach yourself if you decide to. I know folks who taught themselves to drive stick on beaters that didnt matter. My first car, stick, was sub-$3k. I had another car, 5-speed, it was $1k.
