This just popped up on my local pond!
There’s a huge Marlin named Popeye swimming around these parts now.

Something tells me these are gonna be good for bream. I know for a fact the normal size ned rig TRDs work on bass. A tad of super glue behind the jig head and you can easily catch 50 bass on one without changing the worm, just retie when the line shows fraying.

Had some warm weather here last week so I tried my pond this evening with a beetle spin and zman micro neds. Caught 50 before it got too dark to see. I know it’s just bream (and some small bass) but a dang fine trip around the pond for a rainy cool November evening. Cast, let sink to bottom and slow roll beetle spin or twitch Ned jig.

    Christmas time for me!
Got a rod building system on order, going to use it to build some sweet custom rods. Every year we do road/cabin trips with 2 different families. I have been trying to get all the kids more into fishing, but none of them have their own rods. So I plan to build each kid a personalized fishing rod with their favorite color and their names on them. Im also going to build each mom a custom rod so they dont have to rely on their non-fishing husbands old crusty rods.

So in september I won a tiktok drawing for a surf fishing combo. After getting ghosted for over 3 months due to their marketing team losing the person in charge of the giveaway, I finally got my prize! To say sorry for losing me in the shuffle for 3 months, I got some bonus swag! Some hats, shirts and stickers.
Im pumped to use this rod this summer.
Its a 9f2i travel surf rod with a 5000 sized reel from toadfish. I have their 7f2i travel ocean rod and love it, caught many sharks, rays, eels, and lots of those stupid catfish on it. Hoping to pull in some big red fish, giant black drum, or some bigger sharks.
Since I live in MN and only get to the ocean once a year when I visit my family in FL, the travel rod is ideal. But I also live a few hours from Lake Superior, so I plan to try some surf fishing for lake trout this summer.

I do need to have my dad pick up some surf spike rod holders so I dont have to try to fly with mine.
