Hello everyone, so I have been trying to find the solution, but haven't so far.

The driver side Signal lights are not turning on when I turn the main lights on
They work when I activate the turn signal switch and blink normally, but they don't stay on, this happens on both front and back side.

Right side of the turn signal works normal. On when I turn main lights on, and blink when I activate the turn Signal Switch.

I have changed bulbs, even from the working side, and so far, same issue.

Anyone has any idea what could it be?
    Thanks in advance!

So the turn signals work fine but you have no tail lights on the driver's side or the turn signals quit working when the tail lights are on?

The passenger lights work normal, back and front, when I turn on the normal lights, the turn signal lights turn on and when activating turn to right, they blink.
On the other side, the driver side signal lights only light when I activate turn to left, but they don't stay on when I turn the main lights on

Not sure if that makes sense.

    What year is your truck?

There should be two filaments in the front bulb, one is a lower power which is the tail light and the other is a higher power which is the turn signal.

On the rear the turn signal and tail lamps are separate bulbs.

It is a 2005 tacoma 2.7 engine access cab
Thing is, I have swiched the bulbs that work from the side and they continue with the same behaviour.
When I put the driver side bulbs on the passenger, they work as they should. So it is not like the bulb is the problem.

I guess I'm not understanding what the issue is?
The turn signal lamps should not illuminate when the headlights and/or tail lights are on.

Do you have pictures of what your talking about?

ok, so this is the thing

    upload_2025-3-19_20-28-17.png

When I turn on the main lights (black arrows) the turn signal (blue circle) turns on and stays on, red circel is off
When I activate the turn signal to the right (blue circle) it blinks
When I activate the turn signal to the left (red circle) it blinks

Same happens in the back on the same side.

Edit: Apologies for the late reply, I couldn't find time to take the pictures

So, it looks like I was confused and was thinking it was the other way around.
As you said, signal lights should be off until activated, and the issue was the Tow wiring kit, when I unplugged it it worked (after that I noticed a lose negative cable, will test another day if putting it in a bolt will work)

Thank you Dm93 for your help!! your comment about it was the other way around made me look for other posts and find the solution!
