Are 3rz headbolts torque to yield?

    I'm using new head bolts. Just curious if they're the 'stretch' torque-to-yield type?

    Nope, you can reuse if they are in good shape.

    I would point out that they are only $30 for new head bolts. I'd just get new ones.

    Since you have new head bolts, it doesn't really matter if they are reusable... just torque them to spec.

    As far as I understood, though, most head bolts I've seen are torque to yield.

    Old post but had to correct for any one searching this topic.

    The 3rz head bolts ARE torque to yield one time use.
