Hello members of Tacoma world , I come here looking for advice about my R154 transmission ( out of an 87 supra) as I’m aware it has nearly the same internals as the R150 and R151 out of Toyota trucks from this era. I recently swapped this used R154 into my car and it has a constant loud whine as soon as the clutch is let out both in gear and in neutral. Brand new throw out bearing , pilot bearing , and clutch assembly were installed with the transmission. I will attach a YouTube video with the sound. Wondering if anyone has any experience with this. Apparently the transmission had previously been sitting in some guys garage for over 10 years. Been too afraid of driving it so haven’t left the neighborhood or tested more then 1st , 2nd , and reverse/ neutral which all whine.
