Sounds like the north Florida Coyote.

Some pretty Coyotes out there, but damn there's some mangy mutts running around the panhandle.
Usually see them grabbing roadkill that ain't much worse off than them..

A few additions to make me feel cool.
On my first deployment to Afghanistan (2002) my squad was sent out with some ANA to setup a patrol base in Mihtarlam. Only 14 of us with the RO and Doc. We had a guy attached to us who had been in the armory for several years so they made him a M249 (SAW) gunner and he was less than proficient. It was nasty and raining and we had this little abandoned hut we had made home. We were all sitting with out backs to the wall cleaning weapons with a stream running down the middle of the hut. I had my kevlar sitting to my left with my elbow resting on top of it as I was done. This MF gets done, throws a belt of ammo in the SAW and proceeded to do a function check and pump a short burst directly into my kevlar. I promptly checked myself for holes, got up and walked over to him and lets just say. When he woke up we had come to an understanding. He turned out to be a solid guy and years later I ran into him and he out ranked me. LOL...

In Iraq several years later I got a call from our SgtMaj late one night that one of the companies was bringing in a Marine that he needed me to watch. He had been fucking around and shot and killed his best friend due to an ND in their room. Had another guy ND a round into a clearing barrel. Shit happens, hopefully no one is hurt when it does and you can learn and move on. Good on the OP for having a solid sense of humor. Best of luck with the wiring and roof patch.

Right before I got out we had a big drunkin party one night and it was mostly with people who had not seen any combat. One of my buddies who was struggling with some things and always carried was there and drinking pretty heavy. He had passed out in a bedroom and he was not a guy who you wanted to wake up and I thought, someone is going to fuck with him and he is going to kill them. I reached in his waistband and sure enough he had his pistol. I dropped the mag and shucked the round and placed it empty back where he had it. I was drunk also and in retrospect I should have just taken the gun. A while later a couple of guys come out of the room he was in and one was white as a sheet. Followed by my buddy who was looking at his pistol and said "why didn't it go off". I was like, SEE! I KNEW IT!! And this by no means makes me some great guy. Somewhere in the wee hours of this party we went somewhere for something and it took me 10 hours to find my truck. Point being, we all do dumb shit. Hopefully it works out in the end.

I love all the back and forth on what condition to carry in. Most of the people who carry are way more likely to get killed by the weapon they carry then they are to hurt someone else with it. Statistically you can put two people with full mags in a closet and neither will come out with a life threatening injury. In the moment you have to train yourself to slow down and apply the fundamentals. Most people who have never been in that situation are not able to do that. Whatever you decide to do. Respect what the weapon is for and what power it has as a tool. Train the way you expect to use it and apply the 4 basic safety rules. If kids are around unload that shit and store it properly. Locked up. Lock all your shit up. Even good kids get curious. Stay safe.

If you want to get nervous go take a CCW class and pay attention to the people who are carrying. Its a wonder any of us make it home alive on a daily basis.

Both of which are not 100% reliable. The ONLY 100% effective way to prevent an accidental discharge is to not have a round in the chamber.

I may or may not have put a couple of these on my mother-in-law’s vehicle once upon a time. I don’t think she ever noticed. It was supremely unsatisfying.

I am the same. Just don't think I live in an area where it is needed. If I am doing something shady I carry. I have access to firearm's in my home if I am invaded. Out and about, I do not see the need.

    Same here.
The biggest risk i see is someone going road rage on the freeway and me having my sidearm, shooting back into a freeway full of traffic isn't going to help things.

I am going to regret posting my position on this. If you are in a combat zone, walking into a shady craigslist deal or the like, be in condition 1. A civilian walking around going about your daily life. If you must carry, be in condition 3. If you don't think you will have the split second to chamber a round then you are just looking for an excess. In some cities you might could make a case. Short of that. Doubtful.

All the scenarios where people are like "what if I only have one arm". Well then you die. It's like the 400lb prepper. Here is a thought. Go run a mile and let me know how that works out. They have shit tons of food, guns and ammo. I have never been in a situation outside of a combat zone where I did not have the spidy sense that said "hey this might go badly" and where I could adjust my posture accordingly.

LOL, I almost said this exact same thing. Not having a firearm normally forces a much calmer reaction to a crisis.

Yeah its a terrible position. You should train for consistency if you carry a certain way you should train for it. Carrying in 3 different conditions of readiness isnt logical.

Seems to have served me just fine for almost 50 years. But you do what works for you. That said, I would carry in condition 1 if I were in Atlanta too!

How about cutting the top off. You will have the only convertible Tacoma and you won't have to worry about the dome light.
