    Hey everyone,

I’m getting ready to do a full front-end suspension refresh on my 1998 Tacoma V6 TRD (299k miles) and could use some advice on solid, affordable parts.

The truck currently rides rough over bumps, pulls to the right, and the front tires are severely balding on the inside, so it’s definitely time for a rebuild.

    What I’m planning so far:

OEM Toyota Lower Ball Joints – sticking with factory for peace of mind.

Bilstein 2”-2.5” Lift Kit with 5100 Shocks (link here) – hoping this smooths out the ride and gives it a little boost for trail use.

Looking for recommendations on quality aftermarket replacements for the following:

    •Upper Ball Joints

•Inner & Outer Tie Rod Ends

    •Sway Bar End Links

•Steering Rack Bushings (poly vs rubber—open to input)

Upper & Lower Control Arms (pre-built preferred for easier install)

Also open to suggestions on any other components I should replace while I’m in there (idler arm, pitman arm).

The goal is to get everything dialed in before alignment and new tires. The truck is used for daily driving, plus light trail use and off-road desert runs, so I need a setup that’s durable but not overkill.

If you’ve had luck with certain brands or complete kits, drop them below! Also curious to hear what’s worth avoiding.

Appreciate any insight you can share!

5100s are great. Moog LCA, moog tie rods are what I used. An aftermarket uca will help correct alignment with the lift.

Also adjust your tire pressure, I see alot of people running max pressure. The tire label in the door jamb calls for 26 and 29. I usually keep both at 29 unless fully loaded

V2 grille OTT Tune 5100’s Pro rims
    detroit axle for links
unless your rock crawling many times a year.
get an alignment when finished with install.
