Bought '99 Access Cab PreRunner as grandson's first vehicle. Lifetime Cali truck, zero rust, but 289,000 miles. Engine (5vz)/trans (auto) solid, suspension/steering not so much. Replaced everything steering/suspension related (steering rack/ball joints/wheel bearings/control arm & sway bar bushings/end links, everything wearable........and they were all well worn). Transmission mount was toast and replaced.

Engine mounts aren't obvious in need of replaced. If we're going to tackle just to be prudent and under here anyway, now's the time while front suspension off the truck. Watched Timmy and other YouTube videos/read forum posts/etc. No engine hoist so will be raising engine by jacking from bottom of oil pan......and am hesitant......this one concerning more than anything to date.

So to you that have tackled.........any advice/tips/warnings you can offer? No wiring harness or other connection stretching issues? No "ah-oh" sounds from transmission to engine connection (that's biggest concern)? No "crushed oil pan" "leaking oil pan" aftermaths?

    Appreciated, thanks.

Dont use floor jack on the oil pan. Use this engine support the hooks and chain are beefy enough to lift the motor one side at a time with enough clearance to unbolt the mounts and replace without any issue. Pro tip, loosen the transmission mount to help relive pressure when lifting each side of the engine.

nothing wrong with placing a 2x4 or rubber pad on the floor jack & raising engine...
You just need to be smarter than the floor jack, exercise caution, finesse, etc...
When the engine doesnt want to go up anymore with same jack pressure, you need to stop.....
Been a engine mechanic for 32 years...

As far as Timmy & his advice, couldn't tell you if its sound or not as I dont watch his stuff...

From the bottom of the vehicle ive lifted engines from the front crank pulley, ac compressor, oil pan, exhaust manifold, actual just the trans bell housing, etc...
Obviously easier to do when its on a rack, & your using a pole jack & not trying to weekend warrior it while on your back....
