I have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma limited and recently the sunroofs been leaking, the rubber around the outside is worn down and absorbed the rain and it's getting my passenger side roof a little wet. I can find the replacement seals anywhere, is it possible to just use some weatherstripping and stop the leak, any input is appreciated!

I believe that Toyota uses a similar system for draining their sunroofs on many of their models. If so…I had a 92 Landcruiser that leaked because the drain tube was clogged. Solution was to snake a piece of wire down the drain hole which goes down the A pillar to an opening with a gasket. Amazon sells a wire tool. Agreed ^^^^^

    same for my sunroof’ed vehicle
Every time hard rain….wet musty smell
Then after some hurricane, 1inch water on floor board

    searched
Dropped headliner and cleaned SR rails(nasty baby food paste) and blew out/bleached drain lines
No issues since the full day job

You could watch Timmy the Toolman's video about replacing the sunroof gasket. Here's a link to all his videos.

@SaltyKK please post some more photos of the inside/outside of the sunroof.

It’s important to know if this is a Toyota sunroof or a “dealer installed” one that was just cut a hole into the roof.

Could have been added after it sold as well. Pics would help for sure, photo the switches too, those could be a deciding factor on it being factory or added later.
