My 2000 Tacoma mileage 18-19 on highway at 50-60 mph. Worse in town. Something not right. Where should I start looking? Thanks! 3RZ AT, recent tune up runs great!

That might actually be normal for an automatic 3rz

This is hugely variable. Do you have a steady foot or are you constantly stopping on it to pass people on the highway?

Do you have 100lb 35” tires and a big lift?

    Have you regeared the truck?

Has the truck been maintained properly? Or do you have the original gear oil, spark plugs and such and the truck is limping along?

Do you have a roof rack and a giant obstruction reducing your aerodynamics?

As it is, you didn’t provide any information for any of us to chime in over the internet.

“Recent tune up” doesn’t mean anything to me.

Was that new spark plugs? Just an air filter? Who knows.

check your air filter, clean your MAF and if your front A/F sensor is original, replace it. If your truck has the ETC Power switch, press that and monitor what the mileage change is and check tire pressures. The best tool for MPG improvements is a vacuum gauge on the dash, the higher the vacuum the better the mpg.

I forgot about fiberglass camper top with roof rack. Could be it. That camper top is heavy!
