    I picked up my truck from the dealer for the 30k service with the t-case and diffs drain and fill... got home and smelled burning oil then saw this...

    Not sure that applies to my year. I've asked in other threads and had my mechanic check it over when it was in for anual state safety inspection. They said that there are no zerk fittings on the drive shafts on mine. All of them are sealed but they service several Tacomas and older years had them.

    I want to say that the off roads and or sports have the zerg fittings... I'm not sure because my PRO is sealed but I have heard of a lot of people greasing them.

    Do your own maint. Dealers have the newest so called mechanics to do this stuff. YOU are probably more qualified than they are...

    i think the 19 has two fittings on the front propeller shaft.

    Q: what type of cartridge grease to use?

    Ha, I think calling them “service technicians” is funny. That’s like calling a dishwasher in a truck stop cafe a cleaning technician. I’m 68 y/o, when I literally too old to do my own maintenance anymore then I’ll take my truck to my local mechanic, whom I trust completely, to do my maintenance. I let the dealer change my oil one time and when I got home the oil filter housing was leaking. Never again !!!!
