I’ve read the entire Baja boss specific thread and this KO3 thread, which is why I’m specifically asking if anyone has run both (I know the odds are low but worth a shot).

I’m like most people in that I can’t afford to switch tires often, once I buy something I’m stuck for years

I wanted the baja boss ATs but they are EXTREMELY heavy. I couldn't stomach 66lbs for a 285 vs 63lbs for a 295 KO3. If you're ok with SL rated tire though, i would 100% choose them.

Without you sharing how and where you intend to use them my take would be, and I have no first hand experience. The Baja Boss A/T would lean more towards a better mud tire and the KO3 street and sand. Rock they may be comparable. The Baja Boss might be a little more durable/puncture resistant but also heavier. You could also check out Outdoor Auto on YouTube. He has run both and does cover it in his reviews.

I would also make an educated guess that the Baja boss ATs would be better on wet roads than the KO3 (if that matters to you).

The new KO3 is awesome on wet roads, snow, rain. It roasted the Falken AT4w in snow testing as well.

Interesting! I read reviews saying otherwise but no personal experience of my own.

Your thinking the old KO2 which still did better than the new Falcon AT4w in wet braking tests IMG_3189.jpg

Any more pictures of 285/70/17 from the back or front showing tire width? I'm trying to get an idea of how they'll look on 17x9 -38 wheels and I know BFG's run a little narrow. That might not be a bad thing considering the cutting that will be needed. :sawzall:

Maybe I should just go with 295/70/17. :notsure:

These are the only ones I could find....

I have noticed these tires pick up more little rocks then my KO2s did.

    Im on 265/75/16 KO3's

You get your cab mount cut yet? You got your 295/70’s on? I’m excited to see how the look before I buy myself a set!

I'm scheduled to get my set of 265/75 next Friday. I had KOs on my 2G and am replacing a set of KO2s on my 3G so I'm curious how they will compare. My KO2s are wearing like iron (35,000 miles, 10/32 tread remaining) but they're aging out.

I'm doing five as my spare is 13 years old now (leftover from my 2G) but man these have gotten pricey since 2018.

2nd gen 2015 Toyota Tacoma TRD PRO in black here with 112K.

I got ALL 112K out of my original tires from 2014 when the truck was built.

Can anyone speak on when the 265/70R/16's might hit the retailers? I hear May 1 release date from BFG. I could go up to the 265/75R/16's but I am concerned about if it will cause strain on the control arms.

I have a set of KO2's ready to go but I am concerned about the whole hydroplaning issue with them. Not interested in the Falkens though, no offense.

    Your thoughts?

They were supposed to be Feb 1 but never showed up. Someone supposedly reached out to them and was told they will come out with the other May 1 stuff.

Yep, I too had seen the Feb estimate then it changed to sometime in May.
