Comparing Tacoma and Raptor Axles

    We compared tie rods, axles, bash plate thickness, and rear control arms with the Ranger Raptor - Tacoma Hybrid seems to have slightly thicker components (or the same) except for the rear control arms. Both trucks appear very robust.

    I *think* the front axles are Dana 44 on the RR and the Tacoma definitely thicker but barely so. I took the measurement many times and the Tacoma is 5/100 inch thicker. Tacoma’s axles are in house I believe so may not conform to typical dimensions. Rear axle on Tacoma has no question a 0.2” thicker housing. And I know the ring gear is 9.5” on the Tacoma versus the RR’s 8.9”. The rear control arms on RR are 1.9” versus 1.5” on Tacoma. Steel gauge and tie rods the same (actually to be fair the thinnest point on the tie rod is 5/100 inches thicker on the RR).
