I was traveling down I-40 today going to the airport doing about 75mph, passing a semi and all of a sudden the Tacoma loses power and starts stuttering. I can’t accelerate and the engine is running very rough. I pull over, put on my flashers and turn it off. I restarted it and it runs fine the rest of the trip. I have less than 8k miles on the truck. I can’t go to the dealer right away because of travel. Anybody else experience something like this? Performance has been great up until this afternoon.

Check engine light came on. That was it. Pulled over and restarted and it all cleared. I guess there will be a code associated with that.

Sounds like a classic misfire. Check engine light, loss of power, running rough.

Not sure what the whole problem is but definitely sounds like a misfire.

Read the DTC. There will be a code stored from when the check engine light was thrown. Once you have that, you'll at least have a starting point.

Same issue with my 2nd gen.
Stutters and lose power until I drop my speeds.
Everything is running normal & No CEL on.
Have you figure out the issue?
