Folks. I've been on here for a while now.. but currently.. I'm at a loss with this V6 Tacoma from 2007..

I bought it in 2023 with 180k miles.

I use it everyday, and have done nothing to it except basic maintenance such as filters and fluid replacements at their proper change intervals. Nothing has happened. I have not worked on the engine at all since buying it. It's so boring. It just sits in my driveway everyday and works as expected. I'm worried it will stay this way and that I won't ever really have to use my tools on it! :sadviolin::sadviolin::sadviolin:

Here's a pic of the truck. Please post pics of yours if you are dealing with similar issues :D

177k on my 2015 and I haven't seen a single warning light of any kind. Never had it no-start on me. Never stalled, coughed, burped or hiccuped once in 10 years.

Here I sit all broken hearted
I tried to shift then the problems started

The oil didn't leak, the engine didn't smoke
My jack stands wept and my tools never spoke.

The joy of a new car, the thrill of more dept
Oh why oh why I must never forget

Tell me about it. I just test drove a bunch of new silverados and came home to my 20 year old Tacoma that runs perfect. Now I have no excuse to make a bad financial decision by purchasing a new truck!

Haha, just picked up an 05 with 257k. Was concerned it was on original plugs, but they were all one brand. I believe they were in over 100k though, gap was double. Misfire codes on several cylinders. Also, has the timing cover leak if anyone near Charlotte, NC wants to get their hands on a 4.0

Thanks! It’s a snug top commercial shell. Previous owner line-x’d it over 10 years ago but it’s still holding up.

Nice. I thought it looked pretty unique. Looks great with a MGM truck imo.

131k on mine. Only real problem I have had, the power steering rack blew out seals at about 60k miles. I put in a new one then, and it's still alive and well.

You could do some fun projects - I just added a supercharger. Also you could hit some of that preventative maintenance, pull that needle bearing out of the front gearbox assuming that's something you need. Or drop in 1k watts of stereo. Now that I think of it, 90% of what I do to mine are "fun projects". My paint job is failing so the vinyl wrap mummification has begun. If there's one thing the toyota mod community has figured it - it's how to get my money.

Yeah, I did the needle bearing thing! Was all fun and games until it was time to struggle with taking out the bearing itself haha. But yeah. Those other projects you mentioned sure do sound fun!
