It all started with Maytag front loaders back in the day. They would retain.....wet......gunk and it would putrefy. Look it up. We never had a problem with a top loader, or really any machine we bought new. As I stated, this one came with the house. And it stunk. Wife ran cleaners, bleach, H2O2, baking soda, vinegar, Tide, Downy, etc and all the tub and water contact lines were clean - plus we always left the door open, but as I stated again the machine had a low level smell in the wash room (not in the rest of the house!)..........etc and well we sorta got used to it in there. PS, it wasn't leaking. Just glad to have the thing GONE

Speed queen top loader in my house. Expensive machines but easy to repair if that time ever comes. And you can get parts for them.

Gunk build up underneath the agitator arm /post . Take it apart, in owners manual / YouTube has directions. Hard to come apart but rubber mallet/ dead blow hammer really helps. We had the same stink, got it apart, a little bleaching and it’s smell free . It can really stink
We just went through this, thought it might be the septic system

Next time can you FedEx some to the other coast? :hungry:

Heating element went out on our ancient Kenmore last Thursday. Ordered a replacement on Amazon that night and it was delivered Friday. Instructed son with the replacement on Saturday. Saved a $300 service call. This is the 4th time the heating element has been replaced. Parts do wear out.

Good Morning and for those of us still working, welcome to a new work week. Going to do a rack of Baby Back ribs on the smoker today. Having the wife take the chicken to and from the grill on Saturday worked out well, so it will be ribs tonight.

Hmmm.. never had any issues with any washer or dryer. I do all the laundry every day, use minimum amounts of soap, bleach, smaller loads, don't let wet clothes sit in the machine... I git'er done and move on. We have the same machines we moved in with, 30+ years ago. We're on treated, filtered well water. I think time of day matters. Our voltage varies somewhat throughout a typical day. All grid systems do. It's hard on anything electrical, so I try do stuff like washing/drying early, to avoid voltage swings as much as I can. I've learned the typical times, try to avoid the worst.

First LG stunk and goo formed in it.We kept the door open and drier SoCal weather but didn't tub clean as much. This one I tube clean more often and all is well.First was a 2007 model this one is a 2020 model. The only reason we got another one is I didn't want to give up the drawers under the washer. We still are on drier number 1 with the drawers.

There is something worse than washer funk..............hahahaha..............the dreaded LG software "upgrade". Our machine ca 2008 or so was never the same. All kinds of random stopping and other non-sense. LG would not revert and further "upgrades" only made it worse...........which we left behind in 2020 :D:eek:

Had enough geezer washer and dryer talk?

    I got a new stereo system! :bananadance::infantry:

    Good morning...
The Cool Whip won't last to the East Coast, Tom! Waffles were good... keeps the women happy.

One of my hobbies is sharing/ writing about the Spanish Missions, in Baja California. These included the first 18 California missions, as 'Baja', or the 'Baja peninsula', was the land called simply California before Mission San Diego was founded in 1769. After that, the new land from San Diego north was called Alta (Upper) California and to prevent confusion, the peninsula became Baja (Lower) California. After the U.S. acquired Alta California, the 'Alta' was dropped... causing some angst in Mexico because Baja was California first!
Here is my mission 'quick look' with details page: https://vivabaja.com/mission-site-photos/

A few of the Baja missions (if you didn't click the link):

    San Ignacio (1728-1840) Mission #11

    Morning all:

Cloudy, cool, and :rain:, :annoyed:, normal spring weather, but I have a bunch of spring projects that I need to do outside.

My tax preparer called, I usually leave any overpayments roll over towards next year's est. quarterly payments, but I WAY OVER PAID last year so I'm taking a nice refund from the IRS and only rolling over some of it, and I only owe the state a small amount. :yay:

Taxes got done last week by a new (to us) tax gal (their company is 'The Tax Gals!'). They were great... inexpensive, and got us a nice refund from the state and fed. Our previous tax lady retired... Had her for many years. Changes are not always fun or easy, but it was this time.
