I saw someone, I think it was on Facebook selling a version of this multifunction gauge that fits where the digital clock goes that included the adapter. I found the electronic gauge assembly on Aliexpress for less than $25 and I designed and 3D printed my own mounting adapter for where the dash clock goes. I did have to make a notch into one of the screw bosses to get the display to center in the hole correctly.

I have heard some people online complain about the accuracy. I can say the altimeter, clock, angles for the inclinometer and the GPS position all seem to be accurate. If you press and hold the button while you are viewing the inclinometer, it sets the angles to zero to adjust for mounting. It had no problems connecting to satellites from inside my house. The one problem I have found is that the date for people on this side of the dateline is on day ahead and there doesn't seem to be a fix for that.

I will update if there is interest after I get it installed and tested. It uses the old style mini USB connector which you can see in the photo, but it is supposed to have a working voltage range of 5-28v. It comes with the wiring adapter for USB to bare red and black wires and a USB to cigarette adapter cable.

I uploaded a video to YouTube of me clicking through the display screens.
    https://youtu.be/lhILbmseJY0

There are actually an old and newer version of the gauge available online. Beyond the larger case which I am not using the screen size seems the same, but the circuit board is different.
    I have the newer version.

Solvefunction sells the original one. I wouldn't get a cheap knockoff from aliexpress.

I designed the mounting for the newer version of the gauge.

It's not a 'knock-off' if I am buying the electronics from probably the same Chinese importer as he does. The 'original one', do you really think he is making the electronics in house or sourcing them from a local US manufacturer?

I personally like my mount better than his, there's no reason to have the rounded shape when the LCD display panel is a rectangle. Why would I pay him to make the same kind of digital 3D print that I can make myself? I am not going into business selling them, I might even offer the 3D model online for free, I haven't decided yet.

I designed the first mount for the Taco you may have seen on Facebook.

For this one the electronics are purchased frim a different source and cost twice as much. The electronics fail less and the power connectors are higher quality.

i have also started designing my own, you can see in the Instagram post.

You buy from the guy who made it originally so he can keep making things for your vehicles.

Like tweeter mounts and grab handles otherwise the incentive goes to another platform. This is why you support the originators.

Very cool, I also like figuring stuff out on my own. Will it stay on one screen if it's left alone?

I wasn't trying to knock your product, I was just wanting the challenge of making my own and sharing that with the community, but when fatfurious2 said it was a 'knockoff' I needed to reply.

I didn't even mention your company name.

Are the electronics in the one you currently sell on your website different from the Autool X95 that I bought? Or is the only difference that it comes in your custom 3D printed mount? Does yours have the problem with the wrong date?

The B/W one in the photo in your comment is your new in house version that you are still designing?

As another commenter said, The Tacoma Digital Clock is in a really bad spot and I can't see myself investing much more than what I spent into it.

I am not planning on selling my version of this 3D mount, I hope you do well with your new in-house model, I'd like to see it when it's available.

    This^

The clock is in a useless position.

I do like that you guys have found a use for that when/if the clock goes out.

Regardless if the source, I like it. Who doesn't like gadgets?

As far as I know I was the only one who made a mount for the Taco, it was a request from CrunchyTaco who I met in cruise moab doing Metal Masher.

Same electronics as the X95, but the original version. The color of the circuit board is different on the cheaper ones from Alibaba and what not. I also prep the electronics, test and mount into my designed part.

If the date is wrong you may need to adjust the time in the settings.

That is an in house version that I was developing, but doesn't seem to be good business route to go with at this point.

An update, I promised an updated picture once the final installation was finished.
As it turns out the date problem took care of itself after the GPS connection so now it shows the correct date and time.

Sorry, but this is a ridiculous notion. Most shit is posted on github and thingyverse these days for free and people just package the hardware and slap a 500% markup on it

    What's your point?

Of course this is a repackaged item. So what.

Sourcing the item is most of the battle.

I think it's a wonderful job putting a space to use that was previously useless...because Toyota outsourced the electronics to the lowest bidder.

Pointing out that the OP did not go the most cost effective route is just a dick move.

Now, if you would have stated that you found a way to do this mod in a much cheaper way, your stock would be much more valuable.

    Cheers!

No, it sounds like OP did the right thing, unlike my quoted which wanted him to "buy local".
If sourcing the item is the most difficult part for you, perhaps you should learn to code.

I didn't post this to create controversy, not sure why people are arguing. Some time had passed since seeing what Solvefunction had done and I didn't even have his name until after I made my original post and someone accused me of making a cheap knock off of his idea. I'm not trying to compete or sabotage his business, just thought people would think it was cool. I was asked by Tenmile Tacoma to post the installed photo so I did.
