So after about 40-45 mph I have this annoying noise like something is rotating and hitting something. I’ve pulled the dash apart and can’t see anything out of place. Higher the speed the faster it gets. It’s driving me nuts. Just randomly started other day leaving work. Hoping someone on here has encountered something like this before. Trying to upload video of noise from my phone but not letting me‍♂️

My truck has always had an intermintent rattle more toward the right side of the dash by the defrost vents. Drives me nuts as well. Im going back to using that as my daily soon and I will be pulling the dash to see what that is.

I fixed my dash rattle by adding a piece of Velcro tape to the bottom end of the passenger A pillar trim where it was making contact with the dash.

    just throwing this out there

i had weird sound coming from dash after friend and i worked under hood near firewall(subaru)
would get faster/louder as test drive proceeded....really loud

one of us.....(no way was me...lol) did not tighten down a bracket fully...the L bracket was knocking against the firewall just barely but sounded/felt like was a gremlin was pounding a hammer.....guessing any small hit on firewall get/feels louder than really is from reverberation.

Damn, lots of dash gremlins. Mine pops and drives me crazy. I know it's a support bracket something. I just haven't had to dig in there yet and it sounds way up in there. So I stuffed an old vape pen in there about 2 yrs ago not a peep does it make since then ha ha. I need to fix it.

@Moonrman, that is exactly where mine dash makes noise! I will do my best to locate it and fix it. I got so used to it when I used it as a daily over the years, but know when I drive it, I cant stand it. Hopefully I can fix it, but pulling dashes can cause other noises to appear.

OP... You wrote that the faster you drive, the faster the noise becomes. Did you try revving the engine while the truck is in neutral? Doing that should help isolate the noise.

that’s the exact area the sound was from for me too, it sounded like a pencil rolling around in there. The A pillar comes out in 5 mins. Take it out and drive around, do it!

@Parkvisitor, that is how I would describe my noise as well.
