Anyone know what type of pin connector Toyota uses? Specifically for the 2 pin connector that goes to the vacuum brake booster sensor? Not sure if these are Toyota specific or if I could pick up some universal pins.
Mouse chewed it close to connector...was able to de-pin but no way I can repair the actual pin.
    Thnx for the help.

It’s connector V12. Information for that connector attached.

If you buy the “repair wire” listed in there (82998-12720), it will come as a crimped terminal with several inches of wire that you can then splice to the existing.

You can also look the connector up at Corsa Technic and probably buy a kit with the connector and pins that you would then need to crimp. I don’t like the price but the repair wires are handy if you don’t feel like crimping. They come ready to install into the old connector and just splice right onto the old.

I imagine the easiest thing your work would have that he could use would be the 82998-12720 repair wire. He won’t need the connector plug itself since he depinned the old. I don’t think Toyota will sell just the pins, but maybe they do. I know they like to sell the repair wires, which I personally prefer. But you pay dearly for that convenience when they’re $5 a pop.

We don't keep the repair kits on hand. When @Kllrbee posts we'll see where it goes!

Thanks guys, yeah that looks like the repair wire. I took a couple pics with the pins and the connector for reference. Very easy connector to de-pin, I kind of put the face plate on just a little so u guys can recognize the connector.
Spoke to a mechanic friend of mine and he mentioned that he might have some Toyota pins at his shop. 20250323_210906[1].jpg 20250323_210937[1].jpg

Another thing which I havent noticed until just now when I parked in the garage is that the "Hood Ajar" warning stays on in the multi display after the truck is parked and off. Its been 20 minutes and its still lit. I dont think it did that until today. Im afraid its going to kill the battery. What do u think?

Edit...it just went off. Took about 30 minutes though. No biggie, just want to make sure it didnt kill the battery.

I commended on your other thread a few days ago. The mice chewed the wires and now the lack of ground on the hood circuit makes the computer think the hood is up all the time. The indicator on the dash goes off after around 30 minutes.

To fix the problem you need to find the hood wire that was chewed through and ground it or reconnect it to the hood latch circuit.

Yup, agreed. I just didnt notice the dash indicator stayed on for that long over the past couple days. I appreciate the schematic you posted. Very helpful.
Im going on the assumption that the white grounds that were chewed through on the booster and master sensors are on the same circuit in the harness as the white wire on the hood sensor, therefore opening the circuit and causing the issue.

Not that it matters, but it ended up being a squirrel. I caught the lil shit in the act Friday morning back at it. For some reason, Im somewhat relieved it was a squirrel and not mice. Mice are a MFer to get rid of. I should be able to avoid the squirrel issue by parking in the garage.

Thanks for the help guys. Ill see if my bud has the right pins at his shop. Otherwise, Ill end up ordering the "repair wires". Seems like the easiest route to take.
