Bilstein 6112/5100 at 2” (6/8 circlip, 3/8” top spacer, sway bar drop bracket, YotaWerx Black Hawk 2.0 tune, Borla Pro XS exhaust, Freedom Off-Road UCA’s, Alphrex Luxx Series smoked taillights, Westin bull bar, 265/65r18 Cooper Rugged Trek tires, 18x9 Anthem Off-Road wheels -12 offset, 4.5 backspace. Rock Sliders that I fabricated.
So I currently have a 3/2 leveling kit (KSP Performance) on my truck with stock suspension (besides Freedom Off-Road UCA’s) I will eventually upgrade to Bilstein coilovers, dropping to 2” lift, (waiting to pay off my wheels first). I believe I need to upgrade my bump stops because I am planning on doing some off-roading this summer.
Is this the case with my current 3/2 setup?
What is your experience with bump stops and what did you go with? I found some I am looking at getting:
    IMG_2298.png
they have ones for the rear as well, $135. I like this price point better than other options. My main goal is to not have my shocks bottom out. Not so much concerned with ride quality.
Here is my current bump stops situation:

Unless you change your shock length, the factory bump stops are fine. And a lift on an IFS suspension does not change the shock legth (fully extended/compressed length), it just changes where the shock rides at rest.

If you want to upgrade the bump stops to a softer version, for less harsh bottoming out, I recommend Durobumps, but they ain't cheap.

Check out wheelers superbumps or Duro bumps, front and rear. You want to make sure you have the right length for the rear to ensure the bump stop is protecting the shock from bottoming out. There are spacers you can get for the rear bump stops.

so then I don’t need to upgrade the bump stops until I go to Bilstein 6112’s? These are extended travel, right?

Not quite sure what I am going to do in the rear yet, as far as height. I like the level look, but when I tow at night, I am blinding other drivers, so thinking of bringing the rake back. I know some people keep blocks on the back and just upgrade the shock. Most everyone else do the add-a-leaf or replace the entire leaf spring. Not sure exactly what I want to do.

Are you running a spacer lift? (I see no mark being left on the bumpstop landing pad). That's probably why you're experiencing some harshness/bottoming out, you need to lower the bumpstop itself by adding a stack of washers under it and/or getting longer bumpstops (the ones you linked are not tall enough by themselves, you need the bumpstops to be taller by the amount your lift spacers are thick). You can put the normal (stock) bumpstops back on after you put on the Bilsteins though (assuming you'd be ditching the spacers at the same time).

Ah! You're running spacers... sorry. Yes, that changes the fully extended/compressed length. You need to space the bump stop the same thickness as the spacer.

No, for the 6112's you'll be fine with the OEM bumps.

Only bottomed out one time since owning the truck for a little more then a year. Was at Sliver Lake sand dunes and hit a big whoop right before approaching Test Hill. Was going too fast and all four shocks bottomed out hard, and the back of the truck came up. No damage done, luckily.

Ok, so 1.5 inches. That is a lot of washers, lol. Is there enough thread on the bump stops to accommodate these?

Probably not. You might need a spacer of some sort (I can't recall how much thread length was on them, but I doubt it's 1½"). That or taller bumpstops (sad that spacer lift kits don't address this because that is their biggest fault).

so the ones I have pictured here seem to be about one and a half inches taller, although I cannot get the dimensions from the website. these are only 90 bucks. I really don’t want to spend 300 bucks on bump stops especially if I won’t need them for the 6112’s

Something like this should work... you will need to do some research to verify compatibility and size...

If they are 1½" taller, then that will help for sure. Can't really tell anything for sure from the pic though.
However I guess you've gone this long without them already, maybe take it easy on things for a bit longer, while putting your Bilstein acquisition on high priority.

    Edit:
    Bertw192's suggestion is good

Yeah I will not be doing any off-roading until I get this remedied. I only have 500 left to pay off my wheels. I like to do one thing at a time.

The bump stop is closer to the pivot point of the lower control arm than the coilover so you don't need that much of a spacer. I don't know how much but I would bet it is an inch or less.

That makes sense. I wonder if there’s a way to measure without taking out the coil over lol. But also I noticed there are four bump stops total on the front. Do all of these have to be the same height?

Indeed it is (~6" from the pivot vs. ~8.25 for the shock). So 1.09" spacer... 1" should be fine. I recall stock leaves about a ½", maybe ¾" shock travel safety margin as well.

I just measured my stock front bump stops and they only have 3/4 inch of stud sticking out of them. You have to leave at minimum 1/4" of threads to thread into the mount and that is pushing it IMO. So you can't space the factory bump stops more than 1/2". I would put a little less than 1/2" of washers on your bump stops and go find a speed bump, dip, or something to hit hard enough to bottom out. Then see if they hit the control arm. If not you are going to need aftermarket bump stops. Put some grease on the surface of the bump stop so if they do hit they will leave a grease mark on the control arm.
